Rachael Petersen

Graduate student researcher, MIT Media Lab @kk605sd

Rachael Petersen is a graduate student with the Space Enabled group at the MIT Media Lab. Her work focuses on advancing justice in Earth’s complex systems using designs enabled by space. Previous to MIT, Rachael was Deputy Director of Global Forest Watch, where she oversaw programs that leverage real-time satellite to stop deforestation. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, Rachael researched how remote indigenous communities in five countries utilized technology to protect their rights, land and resources.
